Everyone who lives in the rhythm of music and dance, for whom dance is not just a way to move, celebrates International Dance Day. They founded the dance festival back in 1982. The Dance Committee of the International Theater Institute, which is the main partner of the performing arts of UNESCO, is considered the first to introduce the holiday. April 29 is the day of the dance, this date was not chosen by chance, it was on this day that the well-known French ballet master Jean-Georges Nover (creator of modern ballet) was born. He became a reformer of choreographic art.
Dance Day, history and how it is celebrated around the world
Every year, the International Theater Institute organizes various festive events in the chosen city:
Dance performances;
Master classes, where everyone is taught to dance;
Humanitarian projects;
Performances by famous politicians, ambassadors and dancing personalities.
Dance has been known to mankind since ancient times. Many peoples of the world know such types of dances as: household, ritual and stage dances. All of them had a sacred meaning for each individual nation. Dance is a specific body language, thanks to which it is possible to express any emotions and feelings.
The first dance, as well as music and singing, appeared in the Stone Age. Such types of dances can still be seen in the most remote corners of the world — Central Africa and South America (jungle). The earliest written mention of dance is Homer's Iliad, where he describes dances. Over time, the dance transformed into an ordinary form of entertainment. Some examples:
Belly dancing was popular in the East;
In Ancient Rome - military dances of soldiers;
In Medieval Europe, farces were widespread - a comedy performance with elements of dance;
The times of feudalism - dance culture developed, balls, masquerades and folk dances became popular.
Today, dance is an aesthetic form of entertainment. Dance Day in Ukraine is celebrated by ballet workers, ballroom and folk, modern dance groups, as well as amateur dancers. The festival of choreographers and dancers is celebrated by organizing various flash mobs, as well as concert programs. In the modern world, there are many types and directions of dance. Some of them:
Ballrooms - waltz, tango, samba, cha-cha-cha, rumba, pasodoble and others;
Folk - hopak, jiga, lezginka, polka, round dance, belly dance;
Sport dances;
Modern - go-go, hip-hop, house, strip dance and others.
The main advantage of those who dance is a perfect posture and a good gait. Interesting fact: "According to the statistics of the Ukrainian Dance Federation, about twenty percent of Ukrainians like to dance. They enthusiastically attend clubs, schools, and studios. Every year, more and more residents of our country strive to professionally master the skill of skillfully moving to music." Happy dance day can be congratulated by colleagues, relatives or just acquaintances who are involved in the profession of choreographers or just love dancing.

Dance as long as you are young at heart
While the fire in the eyes can burn.
An international holiday is an occasion
I'll say that again.
I wish many melodies,
Calling the body to dance.
